About Mery Rose
Mery Rose is a renowned athlete of the US Parachute Women's Team (USPT), well-known for her exceptional accuracy landing skills. She jumps from a plane at 3,500 feet, performs hop-n-pops, and guides her parachute to reach an electronic disc target referred to as a 'dead center,' which has a diameter of 2 centimeters (just under an inch) placed atop a soft, air mattress measuring 5 meters in diameter. - Video below.
Mery Rose began her skydiving journey at 19, breaking barriers as a civilian at the Military Police Academy of Piauí in Teresina, Brazil, when there were no female military personnel in her country. Her courage was so remarkable that the then-Commander, Colonel Canuto Tupy Caldas, now deceased, admired her and asked, "How could you insist on jumping out of a perfectly good airplane?" His quote has become famous worldwide. "I would never do it, even if someone paid me a million dollars,” he stated.
In the 1980s, Mery Rose soared to unprecedented success in Brazilian parachuting history. However, Brazil's skies had become too small for her flights. Driven by her love for the sport and her quest for a world title from the FAI — Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. The World Air Sports Federation, her flights reached new horizons.
In 1990, with the title of eleven-time Brazilian champion in classic parachuting - style & accuracy, and the name registered on the Guinness Book of 1984, for the largest group jump at once, 197 skydivers, she courageously, left Brazil with unwavering determination to start a new chapter in the USA as a member of the US Parachute Team. She stated, "To win an FAI world title, I must train and compete with the best in the world."
Mery Rose’s dedication and perseverance are genuinely inspiring, showcasing the traits of someone who knows what she wants and how to achieve it. She exemplifies the power of commitment in realizing one’s dreams. With incredible energy, she embodies the strength of her zodiac sign, Taurus, radiating determination and physical and mental resilience.

She explores various fields of art, including sportswear fashion design, fashion coordination, and cutting and sewing (she enjoys making her jumpsuits). She engages in graphic design, graphite pencil drawings, artwork, interior design, and oil painting on canvas. Designed and developed her websites: BestTourEver.com and MeryRose.com.
Her poetry reflects Romanticism and captures the beauty of lyrical rhymes found in modern literature, exalting the rich cultural heritage of Maranhão, her homeland in Northeast Brazil.
We all recognize that Mery Rose is a great artist, but where does her all energy and positive vibe come from? In her home state, there is a popular saying that celebrates exceptional women like her: "Eita Mulher Nordestina Porreta, Sô!" This roughly translates to, "Wow, what an incredible Northeastern woman!"
FAI Parachuting Mondial 2012 - Skydive Dubai
Mery Rose holds the record for 6,988 jumps and has achieved national and international titles. She is part of a group featured with a published Profile in Parachutiste Magazine — July 2008.
When asked about her motivation for achieving great victories, she responded like a poem: "Love drives the greatest accomplishments in the world."
Her friends refer to her as a “citizen of the world” or a "globetrotter" due to her extensive travels around the world —jumping by parachute, of course!
Mery Rose, a passionate dreamer, envisions a future as adventurous as her skydiving jumps; she hopes to keep “jumping for the next 100 years,” reflecting her adventurous spirit, positive outlook, and deep love for the sport.
Over the past five decades, she has dedicated herself entirely to skydiving, making a significant impact on her skydiving career. When asked about the experience of skydiving, she smiles widely and says, “It’s guaranteed fun!"

51 Years of Skydiving!
6,988 Epic Jumps!
With decades immersed in the exhilarating world of competitive skydiving, I have amassed a wealth of experiences that shape my outlook on life.
In an era when parachutes were designed for military men, in the style of World War II, I, at 19 years old and weighing around 100 pounds, found myself soaring through vast blue skies with a giant T-10 parachute and a ventral reserve. The parachute and the container were large for my size. Unlike my friends, who descended to the landing, I ascended and flew in the open heavens. This experience transformed into a continuous privilege - flying for a bit longer.

Skydiving is a sport that features 12 competitive disciplines. Style and Accuracy Landing are indeed the two oldest competitive disciplines in skydiving. Accuracy Landing, often referred to as "Accuracy," was the first to gain official recognition, with the inaugural World Championship held in 1951. Style, which emphasizes freefall acrobatic maneuvers, was introduced in 1962. Together, Style and Accuracy are known as "Classic Parachuting." This team event includes five athletes, and each athlete faces their opponents individually. In skydiving, men and women compete on equal terms.

TEAM
The team of five jumps together from 3.500 ft and makes 10 jumps. The first eight rounds contribute to the team's score. In the last two rounds, the athletes jump separates, helping the athlete in the individual

Styly
The athlete performs a series of six predeterminate moves in free fall as precisely and quickly as possible. The moves include a 360-degree right turn, a 360-degree left turn, and a back loop. The series then respite.

Mery Rose on Target
Accuracy jump is like a golf game; achieving excellent accuracy in jumping requires more mental skill than physical ability. The goal is singular: hitting the target.
The classic parachute has become my favorite accuracy canopy. It allows for smooth, precise, and light flight providing maximum control over the landing zone.

A successful athlete possesses unique skills that enable them to excel. Key elements of this success include natural talent, proper nutrition, rigorous physical training, and a coach's invaluable support, all developed over years of dedication. Achieving greatness requires time, intense focus, and significant mental and physical resilience. Additionally, emotional intelligence is crucial for navigating the challenges of competition, and reaching the overall dream performance involves a combination of clear vision, consistent action, and unwavering determination. It's about not just having dreams but also actively working toward making them a reality through focused effort and a positive mindset.
